The conditions are no longer met
The INS grants a residence permit (regular temporary residence permit) subject to certain conditions. These conditions are laid down in the decision of the INS. The residence document, the pass, also states the conditions.
Examples of these conditions ("restrictions") are: "Stay with spouse", "Stay with partner", "Stay with parent" or "Stay while studying computer science at Fontys".
Moreover, the INS may revoke your residence permit or that of your spouse or partner if the (family) income has decreased.
If the INS receives information by means of a so-called 'klikbrief' or from the municipality, from which it follows that the conditions are no longer met, the INS will send you a preliminary decision. In this letter the INS indicates that it intends to revoke the residence permit granted to you. If you receive such a letter, it is advisable to contact us immediately.
It may be that the information received by the INS is not correct, or that the information is correct but does not have to lead to the revocation of the residence permit.
If the information received by the INS is correct, it is sometimes possible to apply for another residence permit. This is called an application for change of restrictions.
Contact us as soon as you receive a preliminary decision, the INS decided to revoke your residence permit or if you think you might lose your residence permit.
Please note that the deadline for responding to a preliminary decision is usually only 2 weeks. The period to object is only 4 weeks.
